Becky, as a therapist, I’m so glad you are doing solid research integrating biblical studies with mental health. I see so many clients confused by bad teaching and judgment (sometimes very internalized) for needing therapy. There are also therapists who need better support understanding how faith should undergird healing modalities, addressing root issues when possible rather than merely relieving symptoms.

Thankfully, there is growing awareness of these things in some spaces, but it’s early days. Your work is so important!

So grateful for the work you are doing! I’m so pro therapy and think we’ll never really not need therapy (humans will always be human) and at the same time systemic change is still desperately needed in faith communities. I’ve benefited so much from your work just on social media and here.

I hear you with the footnoting! I'm doing a Grad Cert Divinity as a prelude to a psychology/theology PhD here in Australia (am a registered psychologist with a Clinical Psych Masters degree), and Chicago 17 is.... UGH. I miss nice basic APA referencing! ~thought (author, year), reflection ~ So much simpler!

This slow work is so important and so necessary. I can't wait for your research to reach the masses.
